About Me

Most of the birth workers I know are in this field because of their own personal experience with pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. SO much changes as we become mothers, and it’s indescribable until you experience it.

As a child, I loved my dolls and wanted to “deliver babies” when I grew up. I babysat throughout college and was even a nanny for a while. My undergraduate degree is in Kinesiology and my intention was to become a pediatric physical therapist. I didn’t get into graduate school during my first round of applications so I started working a corporate office job. I got used to the paycheck and didn’t want to go back to being a full time student again. Although, it was always in me to obtain a higher degree, so I completed my Master’s in Business Administration while I was working full time. I figured that was a broad enough degree and I could use it anywhere. Little did I know, I would later use it to start my own business, but I’m jumping ahead!

I had a beautiful, unmedicated birth at a birth center with my first born. I knew immediately that I wanted to be in the birth world! My birth was everything I had imagined but the months after completely ROCKED me (hello, postpartum anxiety). I went back to work after my maternity leave for 2 days and quit my full time corporate job. I told my husband I would figure it out….

I took a doula training course through DONA and now here I am, figuring it out.

MY GOALS

I have since had another beautiful birth and added a few training courses to my resume. There is so much more I want to learn and so much more I want to offer. My goal is to continue to take courses in holistic postpartum care and eventually, when my little ones get a little bigger, get more into the birth world.

MY PASSION

It is truly such an honor to be a part of so many other’s birth and postpartum journey. It is so fulfilling that I get to be the help that I didn’t even realize I needed to other mamas. Everything in my life has slowly led me to this point and I’m so grateful that it is my “job” to Mother Her.
